60 days to make Malay part of your day.
Start with one small conversation a day. Follow 60 guided challenges and build the Malay to take part in everyday conversations.
The conversation challenge
60.
Small steps towards real conversations.
Want to speak more Malay, but unsure where to begin? Start with one small conversation today.
The 60-day conversation challenge gives you a path to follow, one everyday situation at a time. Each challenge introduces someone to talk to and three things to do. Order breakfast. Ask for directions. Make a plan with a friend. You always know how to get started and what to try next.
Three goals. Your own words.
Your first stop is Farid’s breakfast stall. Order something to eat, ask for a preference such as takeaway, and find out the total. The checklist updates as you and Farid work through the exchange. Complete all three goals to unlock your next challenge.
There’s no script to memorise. Try different wording, ask a follow-up, or take another turn to get your meaning across. English translations and the chat’s familiar learning tools are there when you need a little help. It’s a small, approachable way to practise expressing yourself each day.
Challenge 1 · Meet Farid
Breakfast at the kopitiam
Nak roti kaya, bungkus. Berapa semua sekali?
Kaya toast to go, please. How much altogether?
Boleh. Dua dolar semua sekali.
Sure. Two dollars altogether.
- Breakfast ordered
- Takeaway confirmed
- Total received
Familiar faces, new situations.
Meet eight characters across the 60 challenges, from Farid at the kopitiam to Nadia at work and Rizal making weekend plans. You’ll return to familiar faces as the conversations grow: choosing an alternative, explaining a preference, or working out a change of plans. Earlier phrases come back in new situations, so the Malay you’ve learnt has a chance to stick.

A little each day adds up.
One challenge a day gives you 60 days of guided practice without a big daily commitment. Keep showing up and you’ll build a practical grasp of everyday Malay, with more confidence to join real conversations. If you’re in the mood for more, you can attempt up to three different challenges each day. Your progress is saved, so you can return to an unfinished conversation or revisit a completed challenge for practice.
Practice challenges count towards the same daily allowance. Once you’ve tried three, you can keep working on those challenges; the allowance resets at midnight Singapore time. Take a day off whenever you need to—your next challenge will be waiting.
